Help! (Identify actor)

I’m going nuts trying to figure this one out…please help

He was a regular on either Dallas or Dynasty tv shows…a wealthy guy…very tall…dressed up in horseman’s garb…mustache…triangular face…not Howard Keel. I picture him riding the range with either Linda Gray or perhaps one of the female leads in dynasty.

I thought I saw him in an old movie the other night but found out in that movie I was looking at a young Larry Hagman.

I tried looking at all the cast members where photos were still available and couldn’t find his picture.

Well, off the top of my head, I don’t recall any character on Dallas or Dynasty with a moustache. Could you be thinking of when Rock Hudson guested on Dynasty? He had an affair with Linda Evans’s character. There’s a bunch of pictures here.

Oh good Lord, I just read through the text of my link, and it appears they are mentioning his sexual orientation in a pretty jerky way. My apologizes for the text.

Thanks but no…none of the above…It seemed to me he was either a CEO or super landowner …horizontal moustache…perhaps 3 inches long…not a well known actor…Mark?..Farnsworth???

Hmmm, the first one to come to mind was Dennis Weaver. He wasn’t in Dallas, but he was had a horse in New York (as McCloud).
You know what? Never mind…he doesn’t match any of the other criteria, just the mustached guy on a horse.

Carry on with more appropriate actors…

The description and name fits Richard Farnsworth, except he wasn’t on Dallas or Dynasty. I can picture him on a horse, though.

The actor i was looking for is John Beck II . I searched and searched and found one picture somewhere…Thats the man…I believe he died recently.

John Beck? Triangular face? He’s got an almost perfectly square face; his head is roughly the shape of a box.

Sorry I mispoke…my memory regarding episodes over 20 years ago obviously lost detail. Would you have come up with John Beck II had I stated he had a square face?

Oddly enough, I might have. I recently saw Audrey Rose, and his jaw just overshadowed the entire proceedings for me. I was trying to think of anyone, this side of Clutch Cargo, with a more block-shaped head.

Ah…he was indeed on Dallas, playing Victoria Principal’s love interest during the “dream season”. His character disappeared in South America while hunting emeralds, IIRC…
