In another thread it was mentioned that Sam Elliott looks weird without a big old mustache in his current Justified role.
That’s probably a simple matter of taste in the man’s looks, but can we name some other past and present celebrities who just wouldn’t look right without a beard, a 'stache, a goatee, or a five o’clock shadow (a la Jason Statham)?
Start with Gabby Hayes or Al “Fuzzy” St. John if you can’t think of newer ones! 
Richard Armitage looks way the hell better with a beard than without. He ought to make that a permanent fixture.
Tom Selleck.
Pretty sure that bottom one is a photoshopped picture of him merged with Hugh Jackman.

Couldn’t get my first link to work for some reason so somebody can fix it or google it, but anyway he just seems so somber without the beard but some of it is probably also attributable to his weight loss.

Kenny Rogers. I can’t find a picture of him without the beard, but trust me, it was icky.
Tim McGraw the clean shaven actor from The Blind Side looks nothing like Tim McGraw the shadow face country singer.
Viggo Mortenson has 2 looks: Aragorn and everything else he did.
With a beard he’s actually kind of ruggedly good-looking. Too bad for him they weren’t in fashion.
Kevin Smith. Mostly because he has always worn a beard. He would probably just look normal after a while without one.
Richard Schiff, who played speechwriter/advisor Toby on TV’s The West Wing, looks a LOT better with his beard.
Ringo Starr has always looked less goofy when he has a beard and/or moustache.
Paul, by contrast, looked a lot goofier WITH facial hair.
Commander Riker, aka Jonathan Frakes, definitely looks better with the beard.
