When I was a little tot my grandpa had a computer and a bunch of floppy disk games (“Just type WIZ!”). He’d pick these games up for like three bucks at the Air Force BX and I’d play the shit out of them.
The one I remember most vividly was a text adventure game. I don’t think it was actually a “text adventure game” in the strictest sense. Each screen had an image of the area and things would change and move on it based on how you interacted with it. I can’t remember for sure if you could actually move your guy in real-time on the screen. Maybe, maybe not. But anyway, most of the challenge came from figuring out what the hell the game wanted you to do, like most text games. “Do you want me to jump? Climb? Aaaarrrgggh what the fuck do you want from me?!”
But the setting was a jungle where the protagonist (wearing a hat like this) and his wife crashed (or landed?) their plane. I think the wife was captured by natives, or maybe she was just left behind with the plane while he explored, can’t remember for sure.
Anyway, anyone happen to remember this game?
