Help me remember a book please. I read it years ago only once and then let a girl whom I was dating borrow it and she broke up with me and never returned it. I don’t think it was the book’s fault. Here is the synopsis:
A physicist (lady) discovers a vortex/portal in some experiment she does. The vortex is strange in that only certain objects can pass into it. Those objects are lost at that point. Other objects are unable to pass into the vortex. Well… and so it turns out the vortex is connected to her conciousness/personality and only “eats” the things that she likes. The emotional climax occurs when she tries to get the vortex to accept her and it won’t.
