Help keep my shaved head safe from the sun.

I’ve had my head shaved several times in the past, but always in the winter. As we enter beach season, can anyone advise me on keeping my clean pate safe from bad ole’ Mr. Sun? Sunscreen and a hat or bandana? Just sunscreen? Anything I need to be careful of besides just sunburn? Thanks in advance.

Sunscreen would not be a bad thing. (former)Roommate has very very thinning hair, and would get so red after a couple of hours out in the sun.

Hats are also an excellent idea, no matter what. We took to keeping a couple of hats in the car just for him if we were going anywhere, especially spontaneous trips to the beach, water parks, or the theme parks.

<grrrrr>

Keep the bandana handy, in case of low-flying and accurate pigeon-drops. At least it’s be easier to clean from a bald head, than from hair.

Oh, and post a picture with and without the hair, m’kay?

I shave my head, and yeah, sunburn really, really sucks. That’s why I use Scalp Spray!

Actually, I always keep a bottle in the truck with me. It’s good stuff, with the added benefit of being alcohol-based- so it really cools you off FAST.

I love it.
Bandanna’s are good, too.

Thanks guys. Sorry screech-owl, but I don’t have any before and after shots. Would you settle for an-in-between stage? Here’s my mohawk from last Halloween - on the Sunday between the party and work: http://www.angelfire.com/az/osakadave/mohawk.jpg
