Help: Looking for Health Q&A's online!

Lately I’ve been having these really bad pains and my doctor and I have been trying to figure out what’s going on. I’m seeing a nuerologist currently, but right now they’re not able to determine what’s wrong. My doctor gave me a calendar which I will record all the details about my headache on. I am to see her again in early-mid July (my last appt. was in late April.). Anyway, I am looking for a Health Q&A’s message board online. I’ve searched it on Yahoo.com and on Google.com but can’t yet to find what I’m looking for. I wanted to submit my pains/problems to a health message board rather than my doctor b/c my appointments are always such far apart and my pains are getting worse. And about time she figures out what’s wrong…I’ll probally be dead. But, she tells me to right down the details on the calendar. So, I thought maybe I’d get help quicker this way by submitting it online. Anyway, it’s really hard for me to put this together, so plz try to understand me. If you know of any Health boards w/ certified doctors, particularly a nuerologist, please let me know. Here at Duke University Childrens Hospital they have alot of patients–out of state and in state so they don’t have that many available appoinments. If you know of an illness w/ the symptoms of: severe headaches, dripping from one eye or one nostril, abdominal & chest pains, numbness & tingling in limbs PLEASE let me know!

Thank you!

Try googling on the term neuralgia (note that, for best results, the “e” comes before the “u” in terms that involve the Central Nervous System and the root neuro-). You will probably be the best judge of which hits are most useful to you, whether they are message boards or online medical encyclopedias or pharmaceutical comanies’ web sites.

Good Luck.

I am a health librarian. I think that the Harvard Neurology forum might be helpful to you. It’s not an “ask-a-doctor” forum, but more a place where people can discuss neurological conditions and get some of their questions answered. In my little opinion, there’s probably not a free service that can answer all of your questions, and you probably need to establish a better communication relationship with your doc. Anyway, here’s the forum:
