However, I have always had trouble replacing Kenmore parts. Will this one work?

I don’t know if that will work, but the motor you listed is $39.20, while I found the same motor on the Sears Parts Direct website for $28.12. I would be more confident of the part from the Sears website.

Also, is there a button to press on this model that will tell me the temperature in the refrigerator and freezer?

I don’t know. Why don’t you ask someone who has that model refrigerator in their house, and presumably has the owner’s manual?
