Help me come up with a company name, please.

“Elliott Broslowsky and Associates” would be an interesting name to see on a jam jar…

The Shelf Preservation Society

**Obsessive Compulsive Preserver

Time Capsule Sweets

Jam of all trades

Bad Mamma Jamma

One Eyed Jam

Secret Seeds

Smackers ** – okay, slight name borrowing!

**I can’t believe it’s not jelly

I made this myself

Just Another Marmalade (J.A.M.)**

I’m picturing the Lady Justice (blindfolded chick with scales) and the scales are heaped with fruit. The name:

“The Fruit, the whole Fruit, and nothing but the Fruit”

Cartooniverse Quote - "Lyllyan, the thing about a great name or a great hook-name is that it usually connects somehow to the buyer. Is there something about your town or area that lends itself to a clever pun or name?"

Not really, there are a lot of *villes around, but nothing I can play off of. My claim to fame is the Apple Butter, hmm, no puns there either. Every time I try to think of a catchy name, I can’t help but think of that old SNL skit “with a name like 10,000 nuns and orphans, it has to be good” take off on the Smuckers commercial.

I try to visualize some wife/husband saying, “Oh, honey, get some more of that wonderful (‘That IS some tasty shit’) jam”. (If I could only get Samuel L. Jackson to do it! )

I want to evoke feelings of old fashioned goodness, natural methods (no preservatives), decandent but simple. I guess, market-wise, the name is best kept to one or two syllables.

I will let this go a couple more days before I pick a name. I have some experimenting with papaya, chipotle and mango to do this week. R & D ya’ know.

#$^%&@! hamsters ate my post. TWICE! You’d better send that sampler box to them instead of the winning poster.

Let’s cut to the chase, shall we?

Simple Pleasures This should evoke the qualities you’ve named above. It also echoes the Shaker hymn Simple Gifts to reinforce the down-to-earth message.

The Conservatory Perhaps too musical, though.

Lyllyan’s Artisanal (Jellies, Butters, whatever) At the risk of being too trendy, “artisanal” is a great word to suggest a hand-crafted, honest-labor spirit.

Garden of Delight :dubious:

FWIW, these are the words that ran through my mind upon reading your description: true, truth, truthful, honest, authentic, real, pleasure, pleasurable, crafstman, crafted, artisan, artisanal, simple, earth, earthy, whole, wholesome, natural, garden, and botanical. Organic is a good word, but you may not want to actually use that in your product name lest you run afoul of labeling laws. Also, “old fashioned” may fit, but IMO it projects a “kountry kitchen” kitschiness, which is a negative to me.

I like your story about how you get going & make too much to keep… So how about these:

Summer’s Bounty

Sweet Abundance

Plentiful Harvest

Have Some!

Sweet Excess

Put A Lid On It

Well we still have not decided on a name, and I have made more stuff in the meantime.
