Help Me Demonstrate Sarah Palin Is a Moron

Anyone who, by this point, doesn’t realize that Sarah Palin is a complete fucking moron who has no business in any elected office, down to and including County Dogcatcher, is probably not going to be swayed by reason or evidence. However, I made the mistake last night of getting into a momentary discussion with someone over whether or not Sarah Palin is an idiot, and was accused of being rude, because apparently saying she’s a moron is insulting to the people of Alaska, Republicans, and Conservatives. Personally, I think *voting for *Sarah Palin is insulting to Alaska, Republicans, and Conservatives, but I digress.

My main problem is that I have an unfortunate habit of forming opinions and then forgetting the exact evidence that caused me to form that opinion. So while I know that I think that Sarah Palin’s an idiot, I can’t point to specific examples of why. That’s where you come in.

I want every piece of evidence you have that Palin is an idiot. I want stupid policies, I want lies, I want bizarre and incomprehensible extemporaneous speeches or interviews. Bonus points if you can contrast with extemporaneous speeches from Obama (i.e., when he’s not reading off a teleprompter). Also feel free to include anything that reveals her as a generally disgusting person, e.g., suggesting that I’m only a “real American” if I live in a rural area and vote for people like her.

If you happen to be a Palin supporter and would like to try to provide evidence to the contrary, I’ll also welcome that here.

Lets see:

[li]The eye-roll (very obvious in the video) to the teacher when she mentioned her profession, and then the thugs that are in her entourage, tore down the woman’s sign, which was on personal property.[/li][li]The Katie Couric interview where she couldn’t even identify what materials she reads.[/li][li]Notes on her hand - seriously, I need notes for speeches, but they are on notecards or other paper based product cause I’m a grown-up.[/li][li]Seeing Russia from her house was her international experience.[/li][li]Refudiate instead of repudiate, and then having the cojones to compare her mangled english to shakespeare.[/li][/ul]

That’s all I got off the top of my head.

ETA: Standing up for Laura Schlessinger’s “First Amendment” rights when they weren’t actually threatened at all. Especially when you consider that she pitched a fit about Rahm Emmanuel (sp?) using “retard”. That’s worse than "nigger"x11 apparently.

You got her help. Don’t need mine.

Top 10 Reasons Sarah Palin Is An Idiot

She didn’t say that she could see Russia from her house. She said that the fact that Alaska is situated close to Russia gives her foreign policy credentials. Surely you can see how those statements are completely different.

That’s got lots of good stuff! I had forgotten about a lot of her nonsense. I am sincerely hoping that we can get her out of our collective heads as soon as this election season is over. Sick of seeing her on the news everywhere for nothing worthwhile. Talk about DNFTT! :smack:

You’re right Steve, I was incorrect - and yes, living in Alaska (due to its proximity to Russia) makes for excellent fp credentials.

Here’s my favorite: Palin's Resignation: The Edited Version | Vanity Fair

Vanity Fair had their editors go over Sarah Palin’s resignation speech. I think the result speaks for itself.

“I can see Russia from my house” was Tina Fey, but Fey’s line was a fairly accurate satirization of what she actually said.

Of course, Tina Fey’s best satirization of Sarah’s words were when she just recited them verbatim.

I think she’s a god damn genius. It’s the values and positions she claims to support that are simplistic and moronic.

I can’t help thinking that this is the GD equivalent of asking easily googled questions in GQ…

Nonetheless, here’s the actual “I can see Alaska” quote:

And on which newspapers and magazines she reads:

Flunking a high school civics midterm:

Flunking the final:

My personal favorite is her take on the Lily Ledbetter Equal Pay Act, which is summed up well here.

If you watch The Young Turks on Youtube they actually have a lot of videos documenting her idiocies. Just load up their channel and search for Palin. There’s a bit where they ask her about what she thinks about states that democratically elect asshole leaders. It was implied that she didn’t know who the hell Hamas was.

There’s the “Department of Law” thing.

Her defense of Dr Laura

“Death Panels”

She’s somewhat of a birther

Doesn’t think abortion killers are terrorists

Receiving witch doctor protection

Couldn’t name any supreme court cases

doesn’t know what a VP does

etc… etc… etc…

I think this -

is an excellent example of this -

Thanks for everything so far. Please provide *specific cites *as much as possible to avoid any of the “I can see Russia from my house” confusion.

And RNATB, I won’t say you’re wrong, but (a) I like seeing what pet idiocies people have held on to and (b) it would take a bit more research than Googling “Sarah Palin idiot evidence.”

Right, Shodan, because staying completely uninvolved while the President Pro Tem actually runs things and only voting when it’s a tie is really getting in there and making good policy changes.

The Twelve Lies of Sarah Palin

The VPOTUS is not “in charge of” the US Senate. That was an erroneous statement based on her obvious misunderstanding (and yours too, apparently) that the title “President of the Senate” imbues the VP with any actual authority over the Senate. It does not. It only means that the VP “presides” ceremonially over the Senate. It does not mean, as Palin mistakenly claimed, that the VP can “work with” the Senate on policy. The VP has no role in caucusing or in the drafting of legislation. They just can, if they wants to (and most don’t because the thrill wears off pretty quickly) bang the gavel and say when it’s time to vote. It’s a completely ceremonial role, not an authoritative one, and the only meaningful power the VP has is the ability to break ties.

Palin was wrong, and was basically just misunderstanding and garbling what she’d been told by briefers.
