Help me find a decent, low noise keyboard? Is it possible?

I’m looking for a decent, low noise, keyboard. I used one a while ago and cannot remember where I saw it, or what brand it was… The only thing I know is that it was black. Thats about as technical as I can get.

What type of keyboard do you use and do you like it? HELP!

I have a “Virtually indestructible keyboard” that is soft silicon and flexible.

(Like this one)

It is a lot quieter than a regular keyboard. It also glows for typing in the dark.

I like it a lot. The key resistance is a bit higher so if you are a light typer, you may not like it for that reason. I pound my keys and love this thing.

.

I just got a Microsoft Digital Media Pro from Fry’s $30.00. It’s very quiet and has a soft but smooth tactile response. I like it a lot so far, and it has a lot of gimmicks to mess with if I feel the need.

Thanks Dave - 8 posts in 3.5 years. I’m honored.

Seconded. Very quiet, and I actually kind of like the touch of it. Only problem I have is with the shift key, sometimes.

Oh, and I love that it rolls up small and fits nicely in my laptop case.

I have the Kensington Slim Type Keyboard and it is pretty quiet. It kind of feels like a laptop keyboard.

IBM Model M, and airport runway-strength ear protection.

How about no keyboard at all?

I recently got one of these too - only the ergonomic (“bent”) version, rather than the straight version.

I do like it, the keys are soft and quiet, and I’m a bit of a pounder too. My only complaint is that the space bar seems to take extra effort. That’s probably a result of the ergonomic design, my thumbs are pressing on the very ends of the space bar, rather than closer to the center.
