Here are my only requirements:
A nice big red digital display
Adjustable snooze
I don’t care about radio, cd/mp3 player, dual alarms, atomic-kept time, temperature, barometric pressure (seriously, what? It’s a neat clock, but way over-gageted). I just want those two things.
Any Dopers know of such a thing?
I tried a clock like the one you describe, & it didn’t work out for me. The LED didplay was too bright. Big LEDs let you read it, but if they’re big enough to read without glasses or from across the room, they generate too much light to sleep near.
I found that this model
works much better. I had one that lasted 10 years, & I changed the batteries about once a year.
well,… this one doesn’t have big red numbers or a snooze option, but it will give you divine inspiration to start your day… 
Bump: I’d love the same thing, big LED numbers, BUT with seconds in addition to the minutes and hours.
Never been able to find one. Only the LCD jobs have seconds, but run with batteries, and can’t read them at night.
My kingdom for such an animal.

Hee! A part of me wants to get that for someone as a white elephant present, but for now I’ll just email that to friends. Spread the love.
I swear by this thing. No nasty alarm noise (although there is a gentle beeping if you don’t wake up in time).
We got this one at Target. It’s got big red LEDs. It doesn’t have an adjustable snooze but it does have two separate alarms that you can set. It also comes with a backup battery already installed, so when you plug it in it already has the correct time, you just have to adjust it for the correct time zone you live in. And it automatically resets for daylight savings time.
