There was a thread in GQ awhile back (maybe 2-3 years ago, maybe more), asking to identify a strange lighted sign outside of a theatre (I think), from the turn of the century (the last century, not 2001). The sign had characters displayed on it, but they weren’t letters, and it was never conclusively decided what the sign was for, but the consensus was it was some type of “tape a number” sign for horse-drawn carriages. I think I posted in the thread, but I can’t find it.
I’m bored, so I looked. I think it’s this thread.
