Help me find a word: slang for 'got in right before someone else'

Good morning (or whatever it is in your respective time zone) SDMB! I was hoping someone could help me out with a word I’m trying to find. The other day I was talking with a few friends and someone left a straight line hanging wide open. I got in with the appropriate punchline right before another person tried to say the same thing. I wanted to triumphantly shout “Hah, [blank]ed you!” but I couldn’t think of the word that goes in the blank. I believe there is a one-syllable slang term that is appropriate in this situation, can anyone think of what it is?

I would look in a reverse dictionary but as I said, it’s slang and not likely to be in the dictionary.

Snipe.

Scooped.

Zygoted?

Trumped.

I don’t know a one-syllable word for it. “Beat you to the punch” would be appropriate and a pun, to boot.

I have never heard “snipe” in this sense except at eBay, nor “scoop” except in the newspaper business.

Poached.

Snipe works.

“Hah I sniped that last chair in the bar!”

Stole you thunder

What, are you all old people? Don’t any of you hang out on CollegeHumor? The appropriate slang term is (ahem)…

**
FIRST!**

Scooped and/or sniped is it! Thanks very much realmojo and runner_pat.

Ninja’d. ‘Ninja’d ya!’ '‘Augh, you ninja’d me!’

Also appropriate as a noun - ‘I’m a ninja!’ ‘Gah, frikkin’ ninja!’

‘Snipe’ has the same flexibility. ‘Stupid sniper!’

Nouning ‘scooped’ is…not so effective.

snatch

C’mon…everyone knows that it is “Cut”.

I cut in front of you.

Ninja’d is correct. It also works for taking the last of something that someone else was reaching for.

blocked? got dibs? intercepted? impeded? cut off? beat? burned? denied? overrode? overcame? rebuffed? spurned? snubbed? quashed? evoked? countermanded? nullified? scrubbed? stonewalled? thwarted? clipped? closed out? shut out? stymied? circumvented? foiled? bested? eclipsed? outstripped? surpassed? transcended? superseded? trounced? surmounted? edged out? prevailed? trumped?

pwned

The word you are looking for is “pimped”, although it’s usually used by the person who got beat. Someone grabs a parking space you were eying: “Damn, that guy just pimped me”. No reason you can’t say “Hey, I just pimped that guy out of a parking space”

Pipped.

“to defeat (a person), esp when his success seems certain (often in the phrase pip at the post)”

On a message board, it’s sarnathed (or just nath’d).
