Help me find audition music!

Hey all!

So, last month I tried my hand at some Shakespeare after being off-stage for 18 years, and I found I quite liked it. Next month are auditions for a 1930’s murder mystery / comedy, and I’m raring to have a go at it.

Some of the parts are singing parts. Now, the theater group that’s running this? During the last show I embarrassed myself in front of them by trying to karaoke something -well- out of my singing range. I want to be able to show them that I -can- sing, so long as I get something I’m comfortable with.

So, I’m looking for a song. 1930’s would be nice. Most importantly, it has to be within my range. According to http://youtu.be/9IejHKpfHso , My range is from C5 to E3. I have absolutely -no- idea how to figure out if something’s in that range. I’m hoping there are dopers out there who know a lot (or even just a little) more about this than I do. HALP!

The auditions were a little over two years ago. If our esteemed pirate friend hasn’t found something by now it’s way too late.
ETA: Reported.

Some interesting options might be:

The Gentleman is A Dope - Allegro
It Might As Well Be Spring - State Fair
Not A Day Goes By - Merrily We Roll Along
Adelaide’s Lament - Guys and Dolls
Sooner or Later - Dick Tracy (movie)
Funny Honey or When You’re Good to Mama (or most numbers from that show) - Chicago

Juuuuuussstt a little too late.
