It depends if you’re a sci-fi snob or not. I love it, but there’s also a crowd out there that doesn’t like it because… well… I don’t know… something about aliens in humanoid form are unrealistic? Or some shit like that?
My problem with Falling Skies is most of every episode is a lot of angsty melodramatic yammering from one character or another trying to act really hard, and the alien hunting seems to be them running around in circles making stupid decisions.
Well, I’m no sci-if snob, and I’ve loved Noah Wiley for years and years, so I’ll check it out.
Thanks!
I recently watched “Jericho” on Netflix, and I really enjoyed it, too.
Some other shows I’ve enjoyed on Netflix -
Misfits
The IT Crowd
Lost
Sherlock (this is so freaking good)
Skins
Orange is the New Black (I’m undecided about this one, actually - it’s kind of self-indulgent, and the main character is a complete shithead)
This is great, if for no other reason than that I found Inspector Morse. I knew it had to be out there, but searching just for Morse did not produce anything. It is so great to have 15 episodes of that to look forward to – a young Kevin Whately! Plus…I am going to try Breaking Bad, Jericho and have a list now to last a while. I knew you Dopers would fix me up. I hate that I lurked around here for 10 years.
:smack:
I liked Survivors quite a bit. It’s a post-apocalyptic series but no zombies.
ETA: Oh, and if you liked Under the Dome then Revolution is equally good and bad for basically the same reasons. They are both different than usual TV fare at least.
Oh yeah, “Survivors” was really good. Way too short, though.
