A friend of mine grew up in and around Turkey and has been looking for a childhood favorite…
spearmint licorice.
I’ve looked all over the web and can’t find anything even close to it. So I’m turning to my Doper friends. Anyone heard of it?

This site has a couple of types that contain mint. Check under Italy and Spain.
Do you mean “Turkish Taffy”? They have a spearmint flavor. I’m not sure Bonomo’s is still around, and when I google it, I come up with a lot of “discontinued” results.
Never mind. Helps if I actually read all the way through the OP.
There’s also the licorice exchange

While we are looking for candy, does anyone know if they still make individual “Fruit Punch” Jolley Ranchers?
They are my favorite candy ever, but they became impossible to find.

You could try the licorice finder. (But maybe you already have, since there’s a post there looking for spearmint licorice.)
You might also ask the folks at Marina Market.
Does it have to be spearmint? Was it more of a licorice with a spearmint flavor, or a mint with a licorice flavor? You could try these:
Hint Mint Licorice
Mentos Licorice
Lakerol Peppermint
Oh! Was it green? I can’t help you… but now I want to find it, too!
We used to get these green licorice ropes, and also long, flat, ridged strips of licorice, also green, and they were minty. Not an overpowering mint, just a nice subtle hint of it and that nice chewy licorice texture.
Haven’t seen it in years and years. I used to get it as a child from most “corner stores” that sold penny candy. I’m from the Maritimes, Canada. I’ll join in the search…
You can order every kind of candy imaginable, by decade, at this site:

It’s definitely a trip down memory lane!
Also Groovy Candies and Hometown Favorites.
Thanks for all the help so far!
I sent the link out to my friend and she says a huge thanks to all. She described it a bit further for me.
It was a twizzler type candy that tasted exactly like spearmint gumdrops. She remembers having it as a child and she says it was most likely European and would have had it last sometime in the 70s.
Thank you!
Thanks! That’s a neat site. I’m thinking of getting some Ausie things…mmmm Blackcurrant.
Thanks! those are great sites too. I hadn’t seen the licorice finder but my friend says that’s her post! G
Thanks again everyone! We both appreciate this tons!
