I’m trying to identify a book I had as a small child in about 1982.
It was a picture book about a dragon called William. I’m guessing it was called “William the Dragon” or something similar.
There were 2 stories in the book, the first was about how William hatched from an egg. The egg was found in her henhouse by a Lady, who identified it as a dragon egg and wrapped it in red flannel.
The second story is about how William becomes ill and is eventually diagnosed to be pining away with lovesickness.
I’ve searched in vain for the author and publisher of this (probably out of print) book, but I’d love to try and get my hands on a copy.
If anyone remembers the book or could help me I’d be really grateful.
