Help me find this Colbert moment

I’m pretty sure it was early on, perhaps even his first season. His guest was peddling a book with rightist ideas that Stephen’s character had no problem agreeing with, but I can’t remember what it was about. At the end, during the book pimping sign off, I distinctly recall Colbert dropping character just enough to subtly but deliberately obscure the cover with his hands, and shake his head ‘no’ as he said ‘check it out’ (or whatever).

Sorry for the lack of details, but if anyone can fill in any more than that to help me track this down I’d appreciate it.

Nothing helpful to offer, but I’m suprised, since that seems like a fairly serious breach. Don’t these shows rely on their guests trusting that their stuff will be advertised on the show?

I definitely don’t remember anything like that, and I’ve seen a healthy majority of his episodes. To be honest, that doesn’t sound like something he would do intentionally.

It was subtle, but I’m sure it was there. It’s not like he was waving his arms around or anything, but even during the interview he was pretty harsh on the guy, so there was already no chance he was coming back. I’ll just have to find and watch the whole first season through again to find it, I suppose.
