I remember reading a short story about aliens who could perceive electricity and created symphonies using it, I believe. My recollection is that the alien characters were discussing with human characters and eventually one of the humans was able to experience the symphony, but only once. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? I am going nuts trying to find it. Thanks!

Of course, that is it. I should have guessed it was Asimov… my favorite short story of all time is “The Last Question.”

As soon as I saw the thread title, I knew which story was being referred to, and remembered “That’s either Asimov, or in an anthology edited by him”. Then I realized that that doesn’t really narrow it down any.
