Ok, we bailed on refinishing the floors. My wife thought:
A) Too much work for floors that were never going to be beautiful (too rustic).
B) Too much maintenance to keep them looking decent
C) Most importantly - the hardwood was only in the Living room and bedrooms. The bathrooms, kitchen, and new bedroom were all different flooring, and she thought that a continuous surface would make the house look much better. We had installed Flooret LVP in our house in Phoenix, so we decided to do that up here. I have mostly finished the main hallway, and her office. Still need to do baseboards (and the rest of the house).
We are 1 block off of Main, at the far north end of town, close the the river and train. Near the Animas City park.
We haven’t been to Telluride yet. Maybe this weekend. So far, our time has mostly been spent fixing up the house. Hope to get to actually enjoy the area this summer. (Even without getting out much, I’ve really been likening it up here.)
Hope Lake above Trout Lake is a lovely (if popular) hike. There is no shortage of hiking, biking, rafting etc. in that area. We do miss the red rock desert in UT since we are now in MT.
