Help me fix my touch pad

This morning, just for the fun of it, evidently, my Toshiba Satellite touch pad decided that it didn’t really have to show the cursor moving as I moved my fingers around the touch pad. Oddly enough, I am able to move the cursor on the screen when I have a wireless mouse plugged into the computer. I would prefer, though, to have the touch pad working like it had been for over half a year: no problems. What can I do?

The computer is a Toshiba Satellite C55-A, running Windows 8.1.

Thanks for any help!

You can click on things with your touchpad, you just can’t see the cursor moving as you scroll your finger across it? If that’s the case, the following probably won’t matter:

You can go into Mouse properties and check that the “disable internal pointing device when external device is attached” is not checked. Also, in the BIOS setup check that “internal pointing device” is enabled.

The issue arose just out of nowhere. After it occurred is when I connected the wireless mouse.

Here is discussion about similar issue on C55A Toshiba Satellites. Did not watch the videos that are referenced.

Darn thing is obviously messing with me. Now it’s working with no problem. Guess I’ll just keep the ol’ wireless mouse handy for the next round of “Messin’ With Monty”.
