Help me get a part time job.

I just want some tips on how to win the companies favour, one thing that particulary gets on my nerves is when they say ‘why did you apply for this job?’ and "what are your interests’:smack: can some people give me some tips on how to perfect the CV and the writing of the application form…
Thanx in advance!

Hey Ryan:

I don’t know if they have “…for Dummies” books in England, but check your local bookstore. I bought “Interviews for Dummies” - it’s a fantastic resource for figuring out answers to interview questions like, “Why did you apply for this job?” and “Tell me about yourself.”

If you can’t find “Interviews for Dummies” I’m sure your local bookstore will carry something along the same lines. The point is that in order to get a job, you usually have to do your homework. Prepare for your interview, sound like you’re excited about the job and the company, etc.

Just my two cents!

Thanx Gazelle

I gather you’re at uni in Manchester? Get yourself down the student careers advice centre - not only will they have lots of resources to help with interviewing technique, but they also have adverts specifically looking for students to do part-time work.

not uni, college.

The college should still have a careers advice facility.
