Help me I.D. this soup please

I once had this soup,it was so yummy, but I have no idea what it was called,so I turn to the SDMB…It seemed to have chicken boullion as the base, there were little round pasta pellets/balls in it and had a leafy vegetable floating in it (spinach I’d presume) and there were meatballs.I had this soup a second time not to long ago at a self serve stop in the grocery store but the sign was missing,so againI missed an opertunity to I.D. it.

I know exactly what you;re talking about; they serve that kind of soup at the East Side Mario’s where I live…

It’s called the Italian Wedding Soup Italian Wedding Soup
I’m very proud of myself now, this is the first time I have the definite, positive answer to a SDMB thread…hopefully no one beat me to it…

Here’s a photo of what it looks like…

(The one at East Side are a little more liquid, with smaller meatballs…)

Damn, I figured it be some really obscure soup that I’ve never even dreamt of, and I new exactly what it was too and you beat me too it. It’s really good though, we sell it at the place where I work. It’s one of the soups that ends up getting eaten more by the employees then the customers. I can add though that it IS spinach, and the meatballs are more like sausage balls (but I’m sure there’s a more technical term for them).

Dr. Liver ninja’d my post…thanks to being a newb and not being quick on the refresh. The Italian restaurant we eat at almost daily at lunch serves a very nice version…fun for the whole family.

MMmmm! Thanks so much guys!I got to get some somewhere, but I don’t think it’s anything I’d find in a can at the grocery store…I’m pregnant and craving it pretty bad, damn!lol

Campell’s makes it now:

As Q.E.D. says, Campbell’s makes it.

But you may not be able to get it in Canada. The closest thing may be Chunky Meatballs with Pasta.

The Campbell’s version is pretty bad . . . too salty. It’s edible in a pinch, but I wouldn’t sell it as tasting like the real thing.

Italian Wedding Soup is made by Campbell’s in Canada. I don’t know if you can get it in cans, but you can certainly get it as one of the bulk “frozen” soups that they market to restaurants, hospitals, etc. You probably can get it in cans, too, I hate the soup myself and haven;t gone looking.
