Help me ID a tree

Sadly, I do not have a digital camera. Or any other kind of camera.

I will have to stop off and get some needles from it.

When you do this, you should try to determine whether the needles are growing in little bundles or clusters, or is each needle separate? That would help a lot. Are the needles stiff and sharp, or are they kind of soft? Or are the needles flat - almost, you might say, spatulate?

A weeping pine?

Nope, not a weeping pine.

You know, I never realized before how many different kinds of trees there were.

I drive by that spot every day going to and from work, so I got curious myself. The most probable tree is apparently the Montezuma Cypress, according to the nice folks at the LA Aboretum (yes, I called. Yes, I am a bit of a nerd. Other guesses are Tolleson’s Weeping Juniper and Deodar Cedar, purely because there are alot of them planted in that area.
