You can hear it here
I would like to set it as my own ringtone.
Blocked in my country on copyright grounds. My country being where Jekyll originally aired, which might be a problem for getting am answer.
Oh, good God, no!
That’s from the Crazy Frog cover of Axel F.
Ha, ha! Awesome. SDMB wins again! Thank you, pulykamell.
I’m stunned it took that long! We’re slacking here. That tune was an international hit fourteen years ago (shit, has it really been that long?) Number 1 on Swedish, Australian, Belgian, French, Irish, New Zealand, Swiss, and UK charts (!?) #3 in Germany, but only #50 in the US.
I would have had it earlier had I seem that thread, of course.
Actually, let’s add a little content and trivia to this. Here’s the original, longer version of the sound. While I know it only from being used in Crazy Frog, its history apparently goes back farther than that.
From Wikipedia.
Then it got hooked up with some computer animation by another Swede in late 2003 and went for what passed for “viral” back in the day. Ya know, now that I see that animation again, that does start to ring a bell. It doesn’t seem that Axel F has that exact sound played verbatim in it, but rather chopped up and run with some effects, so I guess it’s not technically from Crazy Frog’s “Axel F,” but rather from a funny WAV file a Swedish kid uploaded to the internet in 1997 that was further popularized by a video called “The Annoying Thing” in late 2003.
Kooky. Thanks for sharing.
