Help me identify where this pic was taken- I think Richmond, Virginia

My aunt recently found this picture of my grandparents. We think it must have been taken in 1942 when my grandfather was stationed in Richmond, Virginia. I know it’s a long shot, but can anyone identify the location? It looks like a public park and there is an important looking building in the background, so it might still be recognizable.

That distinctive building in the background appears to be the Riverview Baptist Church.

If it’s in the city proper, I’m guessing it’s probably Byrd Park.
