Name 'im SPOOFE.
I don’t think anyone has yet come up with a name manly enough for to be liked by parents who want their child’s name to be “manly”.
Here are my manly suggestions.
B - Brutus (Would have kicked Popeye’s ass and bedded Olive Oyl if it wasn’t for spinach)
C - Ceasar (May not go over well in a Jewish household. In that case try Crusher.)
G - Godzilla (Would you pick a fight with Godzilla Cohen? I wouldn’t.)
H - Hurricane (May not be manly enough because phoneticly it starts with “her”. If that is a problem, go with Himmacane.)
J - Jericho (It’s in the the Old Testament so that is probably good, and it keeps popping up as character names in bad action movies, so it must be manly.)
M - Maximus (You said they didn’t have a problem with trendy names. Well this is their chance to be on the cutting edge of a trend with the recent popularity of the movie Gladiator. Mark my words, in a few years there will be a Maximus or two in every class. This name works well for girls too.)
S - Spartacus (This will be a trend when people get tired of Maximus. (Oxy)Morons who want to be trendy and original will name their kids after the original gangsta… er, I mean gladiator.)
T - Tsunami (What could be more manly than a powerful force of nature that drowns hundreds of people each year. Or go with beatle’s suggestion of Thor.)
Bruce is one of the manliest names I’ve ever seen. Thomas and Steven also work well. Henry, George and Matthew are pretty good, too.
Or, if you REALLY wanna appeal to your relatives’ sense of tradition, here’s what you do:
Name your cousin BCGHJMST (pronounced “Bic-Ghij-Mist”). BCGHJMST Cohen? Sounds like a winner to me!
Altough, I still prefer my previous suggestion.
(My apologies, Drain… it’s 1:41 AM, and I’m extremely bored).
I’ll second the George M.
:::I’m a yankee doodle dandy and yankee doodle oy Vey!::::::::::::::::::
I’m kind of picky about finding a name with a good meaning (after all, who wants to name thier child something that means “destined for misery”?) so I used one of theose baby name finders to look up some decent names that mean something good, as well.
- Bradley (meaning: from the meadow), Brian (strong), Benjamin (son of the right hand)
- Caleb (bold),
- Grant (great)
- Holden (kindly, gracious)
- Jack or Jackson (God is gracious), Jason (healer)
- Matthew (gift of God)
- Sebastian (majestic)
- Todd (fox), Theron (hunter)
Good luck in the search; don’t forget to let us know what you decide!!
