Help me pick a voice for my puppeting assignment

Our church has VBS next week and I’ve been given the assignment of working the puppet. His name is Scraps the Raccoon. You can see a picture of him here. Apparently he works in a cafe. That’s all that I know about him. I’m usually pretty good with voices but I’m having a hard time coming up with how Scraps should sound. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’m a guy with a fairly deep voice so anything like Shari Lewis’ Lambchop won’t work.

Can he sound like Barth? He works in a cafe and has a fairly deep voice.

I’d go with something close to Foghorn Leghorn…or maybe Yosemite Sam if Scraps has rabies…

For general wildlife I’m sort of partial to Joey’s Mr. Woodchuck voice from Full House

A.L.F.

Hmmm, or maybe the Aardvark from that old cartoon. The one who sounded like Jackie Mason.

Barth would be pretty easy to do but I think he would scare the kids. I could do a passable Foghorn Leghorn. I like the Mr. Woodchuck voice but I don’t know if I can do it. I’ll work on it. Since I’m in rural Oklahoma, I don’t think any of the kids would pick up on the humor of the Aardvark.

Make him sound like Pee Wee Herman!

Punch.

Anjudy.

I suggest James Mason or Sean Connery.

If he works in a cafe and wears a chef’s hat, I don’t think Foghorn Leghorn would do. What kind of cafe is it? Is he slinging hash or is he sauteing Gratinée de Coquille St Jacques. Put the character in context. That will help.
