I find myself quoting cartoons a lot. It seems Family Guy and Futurama are the most popular. I can actually do some of the voices pretty well. My Zoidberg is acceptable, my Mr. Garrison is pretty good, and I do an almost flawless Glen Quagmire (I spent months practicing the “giggidy giggidy giggidy” part). But there is one voice I wish I could do and there is no possible way I’ll be able to reproduce it faithfully. That is the voice of Dr. Weird from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Actually, I don’t want the whole voice, just the maniacal laugh! HAHAhaahahah! Alas, not even fucking close. It would come in SO useful. Every feat of accomplishment, every epiphany, every absurd utterance could be followed by that laugh. But it is not to be.
So, what say you Dopers? Who do YOU wish you could mimic.
I also wish I could do “creepy old guy” from Family Guy but I can’t whistle my “sss”. And Unicron, I wanna be able to speak like Unicron.
I am told that I can sometimes pull off a fairly accurate and somewhat disturbing rendition of Spongebob’s laugh.
As for wishes, I’d like to be able to do a proper Mentok the Mindtaker from Harvey Birdman. And along somewhat similar lines, I’d love to pull off an impression of the Venture Brothers’ Dr. Orpheus - that would just never get old.
I can do the creepy old guy from Family Guy and that’s pretty much it. I’d love to be able to the voice of Optimus Prime and Venger. It sounds even cooler now that the voice guy is older.
I once heard a guy in a bar deliver Hamlet’s monologue (To be, or not to be … the whole thing) in a perfect imitation of Daffy Duck’s voice. It was hilarious
I love doing voices and do have a bit of talent at it. I can usually nail any voice if I work on it long enough (which I do in the car back and forth from work) but there’s one guy that I’ll never, ever, ever, evereverever be able to replicate.
Chris Latta did both Cobra Commander and Starscream and that combonation of gravelly screechiness is almost impossible to nail dead on. He was the master.
