I ordered a Classic Plus Kitchen Aid White Mixer for the Little Lady for Xmas, and after using it she lamented that she wanted a mixer that was Canary Yellow. I need to PIMP the mixer to get me out of the dog house. As a side note, we have a new body man who has done some amazing work on our automobile. Should I ask our body man to do the job and if so, any special instructions I should give him? I’m thinking something with flames. Thanks Gang!
It has been done. I see a few other clever ideas there, too; I like the shark nose. Maybe you could go leopard print, or giraffe, or something.
I see some decal sheets that might do the job. They might be tough to apply on the curved surface of a mixer, and I don’t know how durable they’d be. I would think that a shop that does custom auto paint could do it, but what with mixing the colors and all it might be a lot of trouble for a small thing like a mixer. Maybe you can wait until someone is getting a flame job on a car and get them to do your mixer at the same time.
Heck, it looks like it’s a fairly easy DIY project if you so desire. If anyone with a couple of spray cans can do it, I’d imagine an auto body guy will have no problems.
But if you’re going to employ an auto guy, make the most of him! I’ve always been partial to heavy metal flake, and you can always have them do something challenging.
Wow. I can’t believe your wife got that phenomenal mixer and she’s complaining about the color. And for some reason has you thinking you did something wrong.
You should have learned to ask your wife first!
Yep. She obviously has an image in her head. Paint the mixer canary yellow.
And I have a white Kitchenaid that is 30 years old and a wonder - back then the were white (maybe they had black ones). But I see the appeal of color. On the other hand, I can paint my kitchen without worrying that the mixer won’t match the decor. And the mixer has been in two kitchens and has been in rooms of at least six different colors. Before you paint it, you might want to mention the pragmatism of that.
Beat me to it; former cow-orker’s ex did this for her at the local body shop.
<Quote shortened> Paint it yellow, with wings, eyes, & a beak.
Yea, I was thinking the same. She must be… difficult to please?
At any rate, here is a thread on KitchenAid mixers.
Amazon has decals for KichenAid mixers. Search on “kitchenaid mixer decals.”
A thread on this very subject. Joey P had one powder coated.
The model linked in the OP has the top that goes up and down; should paint it like one of these.
Why can’t you just exchange it? Looks like Target has the yellow ones in stock.
Make your WIFE pick out the color she wants or it will be your fault (and the painters) all over again.

Some classic hot rod-style pinstriping looks as good as anything on Kitchenaid mixers. Find a good striper and it’s a pretty quick job.
