Help me please.. It's driving me buggy

Alright I heard this song on the radio only a few lines but I want to know what it is so I can find it and listen to the whole thing it goes something like

I was laying in a burnt out basement with the moonlight in my eyes…
something about being sad…
I’m thinking about getting high…

Those aren’t exact… I was in a rush and didn’t hear them too clear since the radio was low… I know its an oldy though (at least not recent)… can anyone help me?

After the Goldrush by Neil Young.

Great tune.

Neil Young? I dunno I’m fairly certain it was a girl singing it…

Unless there’s been a remake, I agree with Anhk_Too. Young does affect a rather high-pitched voice for this song. It took me a while (years ago) to figure out which song it was, as I always referred to it as the “Mother Nature on the run in the 1970s” song.

Sir

I believe this was remade by a female fairly recently

Sure, let a deaf person do the work for ya. I don’t know about rules for posting songs, but for all the other deaf people out there who can’t hear it, here it is:

After The Goldrush
Prelude
Peak Position: #22
Year: 1974
Well I dreamed I saw the knights in armour coming saying something about
a queen
There were peasants singing and drummers drumming and the archer split
the tree
There was a fanfare blowing to the sun that was floating on the breeze
Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen-seventies
I was lying in a burned out basement with a full moon in my eyes
I was hoping for a replacement when the sun burst through the skies
There was a band playing in my head and I felt like getting high
I was thinking about what a friend had said I was hoping it was a lie
Thinking about what a friend had said I was hoping it was a lie
Well I dreamed i saw the silver spaceships flying in the yellow haze of
the sun
There were children crying and colors flying all around the chosen one
All in a dream, all in a dream the loading had begun
They were flying mother nature´s silver seed to a new home in the sun
Flying mother nature´s silver seed to a new home in the sun

Then I guess it is Neil Young… Thanks people!

Young? No way, it wwas Prelude. Not from honda.
