There’s a city called Bay Minette in Alabama, and while “Minette” means “faithful defender”, it is of feminine gender and sounds like the kind of name a horse-crazy girl would think sounds cute.

You clearly don’t know how ubiquitous Tolkien-named animals are. I’ve met guinea pigs named Galadriel and Gandalf before. Seriously trite unless you delve deep into the notes to the Silmarillion and find something truly obscure.
