Some of you may remember that I lost my horse last winter in a really bad accident. I had started to look for “The Perfect Horse” about a month ago. Not really looking hard but at least open to the idea of getting a new horse.
Now I have to come up with a name for him and so I turn to the teeming millions to lend me a hand. I need to come up with a registered name for him as well as a “barn name”. The registered name has to start with “JKK” and can’t be more that 30 characters long. They usually include some reference to the parents.
The stud is “Reys Spanish Doc”
The mare is "Sox Charming Gem)
So far I have come up with “JKK Dox N Sox ___________”
For a barn name I like something a little different than main stream. The only two I have come up with are “Hoot/Hootie” or “Swede”.
I will let you all know what I choose. They also gave me his mom and she is bred back again for next year so my second choice will go for the new foal next year.
Thanks!

I’ve got a great idea for a western – get Clint Eastwood to star, and reunite America for the vsoundtrack. It could be The Man With No Name on the Horse With No Name.

Unless you expect that stripe down his back to disappear! Or you could still call him that, and have people give you weird looks all the time!
As far as color goes, he will be a buttermilk dun. The black stripe will stay and his legs, ears and muzzle will turn black. His body color is, well it’s a buttermilk color, hence the name.
The character from Field of DreamsDoctor Archie “Moonlight” Graham who played part of one game before giving up to become a doctor was based on a real player. In the movie he gets his at bat and drives in a run by hitting a sacrifice fly to right field. The pitcher he scores off is Chicago White Sox pitcher Eddie Cicotte.

I read a lot of Dr. Seuss.
Now, if you ever get yourself a poodle eating noodles while tweedle beetles battle in a bottle in a muddy puddle, well, give me a call.
Oooh, a buttermilk dun! Isn’t that the same kind of horse that Pa Cartwright rode on “Bonanza,” who also played the role of Matt Dillon’s horse on “Gunsmoke?”

Barn names: Smokey, Goldie? I’m not sure I know what color he’ll end up looking like! I can’t remember the name of that Dun from TV either, sorry.
