Help me remember what film these lines come from

I’ve been trying to remember which film I saw this little scene in for years. I THINK it’s spoken by a middle aged, heavyset white man (sort of like Charles Durning? But this might be becuase I keep wondering if it is from Tootsie and it doesn’t seem to be. Anyway, the only bit I clearly remember are the words. He says thoughtfully that though it’s wonderful to go on holiday, it means nothing to him without there being someone with him that he can turn to and say “how about that view?”

The words really stuck with me long after (obviously) the film did.
I’ve been trying to remember for more than 10 years so it is that old at the very least. Grateful for any ideas.

If the phrase “on holiday” was used it’s not likely to be Tootsie or any other American movie unless the character who said it was British. We don’t go on holiday in America; we go on vacation.

Fair comment Otto - but it’s the sentiment that resonated rather than the wording so it’s possible that my fuzzy memory has edited things down the years. Now I think about it, I really only have the memory of me remembering it rather than remembering the movie itself.

Man, I really, really hope I’m never called to the witness stand any time soon…
