Reigning Sound’s newest Shattered is amazing, and a couple of years ago, the Dirtbombs came out with Ooey Gooey Chewy Ka-blooey, an homage to the great bubble gum hits of the sixties, presented with the patented two drum set two guitar presentation of classic Dirtbombs.
You said you don’t like Country, but Old 97s sound is more Elvis Costello than country, and their new album Most Messed Up is a blast!
Amanset, I picked up PSB, I really like it. Somewhat reminiscent of Grid musically, esp. Higher Peaks. Ironically, Signal 30 makes me speed when I’m in the car.
Excellent. Glad to hear another has entered the fold! I finally saw them live about a month or so ago and I was really quite impressed. Rather than just going on stage, pressing a button and then jumping around, they made a very real attempt to play it all, especially the lead guy who seemed to play guitar, banjo, keyboards and random samples in the same song.
The Grid, now there’s a band I haven’t heard of in years I am partial to a bit of traditional instruments with “beats” behind them.
Thanks to this thread, I now have a playlist titled: SDMB Recommends, which is about 11 hours long. Some I’ve heard of but never really listened to, and some are totally new. Gonna take a while to get through it, and looking forward to adding multiple albums to my library. Thanks guys!
