All the sudden I’ve lost my appetite.
Not Hungry is by far the best of the cavemen.
Those commercials do nothing for me, I thought this thread was going to be a rant about the cavemen.
I don’t know why they assume the cavemen would have speech impediments.
Mildly funny, and I like the linkages between each episode, but I agree with Larry Borgia that their effectiveness in bringing in clients is probably pretty iffy.
It certainly helps with name recognition. You associate the cavemen commercials with the name Geiko.
I would argue that these commercials alone would be ineffective, as they do little to promote Geiko as a car insurance provider.
However, Geiko has a few other ongoing ad campaigns (the lizard, I just saved a lot of money, In the Time it took…) to work in tandem with this campaign.
I’d imagine their company has seen a dramatic jump in business since the Gecko. I think the cavemen just keep the name out there.
“Help me tell the Geico Cavemen apart”
Man, that is so speciesist. All cavemen look alike to you, right? Did you ever bother to actually look at them, rather than avert your oh-so-precious eyes? You disgust me.
The gecko’s now played by Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning on the British soap, EastEnders. At least he’s authentic :D.
E.
I assumed this was caused by the prostheses they had to wear as part of their make up. Thus: “mango thaltha.”
Best Geico commercial ever: Tiny House! The cave men are a close second.
The cavemen should embark on a series of Coyote vs. Road Runner-type commercials
where they try to catch the Gecko and eat it. They fail abysmally (yet hiliariously)
each time of course.
I’d forgotten about this one. That girl is so awesome!
I would be willing to bet that you’re wrong. Companies typically don’t spend that kind of money & air time on commercials unless they have a darn good idea that they are paying off.
…and they are spending some jack on those spots.
