Help me tell the Geico Cavemen apart

How many Geico Cavemen commercials have there been to date? Here’s a list of the ones I can think of. Tell me if I’m missing one:

  1. The first one (“I’ll have the duck with the mango salsa.” “I don’t have much of an appetite.”)

  2. The airport one, with the lovely “Another Place in Time” playing in the background.

  3. The current events show interview (“Sorry we didn’t get that to you sooner.”)

  4. The therapy session (“Well, that wouldn’t make any sense.” “Why? Because therapists are smart?”)

So anyway, do all the subsequent commercials feature the same two cavemen? For lack of better names, let’s call the cavemen from the first commercial **Mango Salsa **and **Not Hungry. ** I think that Not Hungry is the angry one from the airport and the interview show, and that Mango Salsa is the one getting therapy.
Is that correct?

  1. The real first one, with the cavemen on the production crew of the GEICO commercial that sets the whole thing off.

Here is a small blurb about the actors involved.

I also remember
1.5 With the cavemen (3 of them?) in large apartment decorated with modern style furniture reading, playing the piano, etc.

This one came before “Mango Salsa”, and was simultaneous with the production crew one. I remember that those commercials were usually aired sequentially. First, the production crew (“Dude, that is not cool!”), immediately followed by the apartment (“That is so condescending!”). Indeed, the cavemen in the apartment were watching the very commercial that the caveman on the production crew was a part of.

The sequence as I recall it is:

  1. production crew
  2. apartment
  3. restaurant (mango salsa)
  4. airport
  5. talk show
  6. therapy

Terminus Est and aktep, Thanks for filling in the gaps in my list. I haven’t seen the production crew and the apartment ones. I’d love to see them. Are they viewable online anywhere?

Thanks, Swan, for the link. That was really interesting.

Huh… Jim Rose of Jim Rose Circus Sideshow fame claims he’s the main caveman. He Myspaces about it quite a bit.

Any minute now we’ll have a caveman posting to this thread and telling us how insensitive the OP is for implying that all cavemen look alike.

Hey did anyone notice that in the “therapy” commercial, the therapist is played by Talia Shire ?

If it’s not her it is her identical twin…

Searching YouTube, I found these:

1 Production crew
2 Apartment
3 Restaurant
4 Airport
5 Talk show
6 Therapist

I also found this followup to the airport one that I haven’t seen before.

I love those ads but I’m not sure how they’re convincing me that Geico will fulfill my car insurance needs.

Not directly responsive to the OP, but I feel compelled to post this link to a “movie trailer” featuring the Geico Cavemen. I have no idea who put this together. It looks like a mashup but hard to tell.

The next time you go looking for insurance the hope is you will remember Geico.

They aren’t supposed to. They’re supposed to convey the fact that geico.com is extremely easy to use.

Bah. A talking lizard would have accomplished that goal.

So easy, in fact, a caveman could do it.

The song is Remind Me by Royksopp. Here’s a link to the music video on Youtube.

The actor John Lehr plays one of the cavemen. On his website it looks like he is the one in the production crew and the one with the therapist.

Which can save you hundreds of dollars in car insurance.

Geico consistently has the best commercials. I don’t like the new accent for the Gecko, though. I guess Kelsey got too expensive.
