OK, this may be a little weird, but in honor of my upcoming 30th anniversary of working here I want to give my co-workers a celebration of some kind, to show my appreciation for everything they have done and continue to do to make my life easier.
On the other hand, I don’t want it to look like I’m throwing myself a party.
I don’t mind spending some money, and whatever we do will have to be on the premises. I expect it will involve having food brought in, but what else? People in several different departments will be involved. Also, everyone involved, with only a very few exceptions (i.e. department heads) are people that I regard as my peers.
So I’m looking for ideas in two areas -
food ideas (preferably on the healthy side, but some decadence may be allowed for the occasion) -
presentation ideas. Should I just not mention that it’s my anniversary, and focus on the “thank you” aspect of it?
Please, let your minds go wild, and give me your best ideas!

Doesn’t your HRM department have a format for this? They might be planning a party for you, (or you might need to prompt them a bit by asking this same question
)
No, it would be nice if so, but I’m pretty sure the day will otherwise go by uncommented upon, with the possible exception of a greeting card signed (perfunctorily) by the CEO.
Which is a good part of my motivation. I was thinking of doing something like this when I retire (throwing a big party for everyone) but I don’t want to wait that long.

Sorry, but this is what it sounds like to me.
The usual treat in your situation is to invite everyone to a nearby bar after hours for socializing, and announce you’ll pick up the tab. And have the bar perhaps serve some snacks that go with a drink, like light tapas or something.
So what? Let him throw himself a party. His coworkers will enjoy it, he’ll enjoy it, there will be lots of warm fuzzies, and everyone will be happy.
If you’re going to do it on premises, during work hours, you need to clear it with management.
Assuming you get clearance, then a huge sandwich or several pizzas should cover the food.
Strippers and blow for all!
