Help me with ideas for my Grandpa's B-day present!

My grandpa is turning 80 on Saturday, which is an accomplishment in itself, but it especially means a lot for him b/c he had a severe stroke over 10 years ago. Since then he has not had use of the left side of his body, and is in a wheelchair. When he had his stroke we never thought he would live for so much longer but he obviously had the will and the spirit, because he’s made it this far.

I wanted to make something that would mean something to him, so I decided to put a design on a shirt for him. I got that kind of transfer paper that you can print a design onto, and then iron it onto a shirt. But I just can’t think of what to put on it! I want it to say something, but I’m at a total loss for ideas. So maybe you guys might be able to help me out?

I’m looking for a saying that’s meaningful, or funny, or both (he has a good sense of humor, so funny is a plus). Something relating to being 80 is good too. Any suggestions welcome and appreciated!

bump.

My boyfriend’s grandma just turned 80. 2 of her grandchildren put together a video tape with everyone in the family sending their well wishes. I think that was really nice.

Happy 80th birthday Amazon Floozy Grandpa!

HA HA HA! Wow. I should have thought of that as my username!

How about his favorite photograph?

My late grandpa was moved to tears when we gave him a 8x10" framed photo of his wedding picture for his 90th B-day.

Good Luck and Happy B-Day AFG.

.

That’s a great idea. I may go with that on the shirt. I’ll ask my mom to root through the photo books.

Thanks!

I second the photo, I think that at that age people need their memories more than anything new.

If you’re thinking of any other gift ideas, what about an audio version of one of his favourite books? My grandmother finds reading difficult, so we got her some CDs of her favourite books, which she loves listening too.
