I had a 2nd edition Necromancer who, after he became a lich, started going by The Master of the Living and the Dead. He would tell people they could just call him Master for short. I figure you could do something similar since it sounds like you’re going to have him be an undead also.
Of course, if your PCs are going to spend the time to research his true name, then forget everything I just said and call him Xanax.

How 'bout Makar or Measse? Those were JRRT’s brother and sister war and blood loving Valar who were sympathetic to Melkor, but got edited out of the Silmarillion?
Where did this info come from?
I have never heard it before and I have most of the Histories of Middle Earth’s by Christopher & The Letters of JRRT.
I am Curious not Challenging. I may need to buy another book.
HOMES I, Book of Lost Tales. Not sure if they’re still in HOMES II, but they may well be.
To be a true Tolkien student, one must do more than have HOMES, one must read them. Repeatedly.
QtM, still plowing thru “Sauron Defeated” for the 4th time, but planning on getting the rest of HOMES finished again before the new year.
Now, for extra credit, identify Omar-Amillo!! And Tevaldo, prince of cats! Then discuss Beren’s adventures as an elf!
Well? :dubious:
:: Points ::
That’s him.
Dubja the Obnox.
Illiam Klin the Nymphomancer.
I am in the presence of a true master, I have let my skills tarnish in the useless pursuit of other knowledge. Forgive this fallen one great master. Truly you should reside in Imladris. I will need to reread the HOMES I & II.
Omar-Amillo was to be the Vala of song. He was the greatest singer but was dropped as his singing would have made him the strongest Vala (closest to Eru). Manwe needed to be the most powerful.
Did you mean **Tevildo, Prince of Cats ** who was mentioned in Untold tales. He sounds very cool and I wonder if there was a tie in to Queen Beruthiel. He was to be a mighty servant of Sauron’s if I remember.
Got me on Beren’s adventures as an Elf. Perhap you could supply more info.
Not bad, not bad. You show potential.
Read HOMES I and II and you should be current on Beren the elf’s adventures (they do include Tevildo/Tevaldo).
By the time you finish HOMES XII you should be able to write an essay describing all the alternative first names that Tolkien considered for Lobelia Sackville-Baggins, where they derived from, and why he eventually rejected them.
You should also be able to recount the details of Frodo’s (or was it Bingo’s, I forget) imprisonment by the evil Fangorn.
An essay of how our modern world would be different if Meriadoc had retained his original name of Marmaduke could be included for bonus geek points. Do you think we would have had a lame comic strip about a giant dog named Meriadoc?
Uber-geek points for the name of Fingolfin’s wife. More said points for the names of his 3 sisters.
But if you want to skip all that and have some sort of “fulfilling” normal life, I guess I’ll accept that.
Imladris is nice in the summer, but I prefer to winter at Hanstovanen. The chance to rub elbows with the real powers, y’know!
