Help! Need perfect song suggestion for special occasion.

My family is helping me throw a suprise mock-graduation for my wife. She has worked very hard to get her degree while working part time and taking care of our two small children. She never gave up and we want her to know how much we appreciate her hard work.

We want to play some special music during the ceremony, so we need a song that highlights her accomplishment. We are specifically looking for a song that talks about someone’s hard work paying off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

How about “Hard Day’s Night” Beatles?

It pains me to say this… but “Takin’ Care of Business”?

No?

I didn’t think so…

The theme to that 80s TV show about smart kids?

*The future’s looking bright

And it’s only getting better

I’ve got a good job (?)

Gettin good grades

The Future’s so bright

I have to wear shades*

The Impossible Dream from Man of La Mancha

She Works Hard for the Money - Donna Summers

Looks Like We Made It - Barry Manilow

This isn’t the suicide song thread, you know…

Must … resist …
strength fading …

Eye of the Tiger
Risin’ up – straight to the top,
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I’m not gonna stop

That would be Timbuk3’s “The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades” which hit #19 in 1986.

I Believe I Can Fly by R.Kelly

When You Believe by Whitney Houston

Go The Distance by Michael Bolton

One Moment In Time by Whitney Houston

Schools Out by Alice Cooper

Mo Money Mo Problems by Puff Daddy

Why not Pomp and Circumstance?

(that’s the traditional graduation song, you can get it on the Fantasia 2000 soundtrack)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think we are going to take one of don’t ask’s suggestions.
