Help please, looking for a movie title.

I was remembering the other day a movie I’d seen as a teenager on TV. It would have been late 70’s (or very early 80’s). For the life of me I can’t recall its name.

It was a Cinderela type story (evil step-sisters, prince charming, lost slipper, et al) and it was a musical. A scene that I remember: Cinderela is leaving the castle, at night, and enters a carriage. I think she’s leaving to protect the “prince” in some way. While descending a staircase she’s singing (I did say it was a musical).

Any ideas? I would really like to watch this again - I remember really enjoying it at the time.

Well, there are a couple hundred versions of Cinderella so can you maybe narrow it down a little?

Was it the mid-60s version with Lesley (Leslie?) Ann Warren? It was definitely a musical, and the last time I recall it on TV was about 10-15 years ago.
