Help the technophobe- Codecs!

Hey all.

After a re-install of Win98 SE, I downloaded WinAmp and went to play some tunes. Apparently I need some codecs now, including MP3.ACM
After googling, I’ve just gotten more and more confused. Can anyone tell me 1) where I should get this codec, 2) is there a better one I should be getting, and 3) What the heck do I do with it once I get it?

Well, you can always try opening the file in Windows Media Player and see if the codec is automatically downloaded. AFAIK, codecs are specific to your machine, not the app in question (in other words, many media players can play RealPlayer files, but most of them need you to install Real for the codecs).

Thanks. Worked like a charm.
