Help us identify this coin! Bunch of bored guys at work.

So a guy had this in his pocket. Came by way of his wife who is a waitress. Hours of internet searching have not yielded much. Sorry for the crappy scan, the scanners here suck. Any ideas…

Hebrew and Arabic writing? I’m guessing that it’s an Israeli coin of some kind.

Looks Israeli

It’s a 1954 50 Pruta coin from Israel. (To view, select “KM-13a Israel 1954 50 Pruta” from the pull down list.)

It says “shekel” in Hebrew. I’m guessing it’s a shekel.

EDIT: Oops…it says “Israel”. Duh.

Thanks guys! I guess it is from Isreal: km13.2 50 Prutah (1954) plain edge&query=Israel km 13.2

Great, this site rocks.

If it’s the smooth edge in good condition, it’s worth a dollar or two to a collector. The reed edge is rare and much more valuable.
