I have a problem with my boss loop station RC-20XL pedal. Every time I turn it on it goes through some weird cycle where all the lights flash through repeatedly and it does not stop. Does anyone know a factory reset for this pedal or could point me towards a specific online messageboard that could answer my question?

Do you have the manual? If not, you can download it from Roland.
Might be a little button on the front or side. I’ve seen crazy light loops on tuning pedals that can be remedied by pressing these little buttons of which there are no other discernable use. I’d also recommend a simple battery change (a 9V, I’m assuming) or adding a battery if you powering through a wall socket.
Not much science or knowhow in the above suggestion, but that’s what I do to my pedals and, 9 times out of 10, it works.
Sounds like a problem I was having with my Zoom pedal.
And some of the factory presets were erased.
My best guess was that storing the pedal inside an opened back combo amp right next to the huge magnet may have fried it. :smack:
