Help with AVI files

I need an AVI player for my comp, cuz the SysAdmin will not upgrade Windows media player because he is too busy not doing any work to be bothered with me. I cannot do it because i do not have access. So is there a free program that lets me play AVI files that i don’t need Administrator Privilages to install? (and if some of you think i am trying to usurp work time for movie watching, that is not the case, i do stuff like that after work, and my boss boss has seen me playing Starcraft and the like and cares not. But our SysAdmin is a giant cockroach and refuses to do an extra two seconds of work.)

OK. Ifranview, plays avi’s. It’s free but I’m not sure if you can install w/o admin privileges. Ifranview is mainly a jpeg/jpg viewer but I understand it does play some movies. AVI is one of them. In addition it handles MPG/MPEG and MOV (Apples version of video). Hope this helps.

You could also try Zoom Player. It’s free, lightweight (unlike MS Bloatware) and doesn’t install any nasty dll’s or muck with the registry (I think).

zoom player installed, but i cant install any codecs without access. i am currently trying to con the comp guy into installing some stuff, maybe i can stick that in, or snag the password. thanx for your help!
