I got an anoying piece of spam (more so then usual). It was the UNIVERSITY DIPLOMAS for those who have gotten it. This was differennt though, There was no text in the email, just a link to a web page that only contained a jpg of the text of the annoying email. So when I opened it I saw what looked like a standard email but it really was just a picture of text, not text itself.
You can’t do that specifically. I wish you could because then so could I _ You can disable the preview panel and delete those emails you do not want to open. That’s the best you can do.
I get a ton of those University diploma spams too. I have blocked every word from the subject line (university, diploma, degree) and they get more creative. I have received emails with U.n.i.v.e.r.s.i.t.y.D.i.p.l.o.m.a and every other variation I can think of since. Very annoying, these spammers are on the top of my sh!t list, even more than the porn spammers.
In OE 6 you can disable HTML in emails (tools, options, under the read tab, check ‘read all emails in plain text’), but I don’t know if that will stop what you described. It might, when I get fancy HTML emails when the option is turned on, no pictures show up.
I guess I am unclear - did you have to click the web link in the email to see the .jpg of text, or did the .jpg of text show up directly in the email? Reading messages in plain text will help if it is the latter.
