Help with Netscape ??

I downloaded Netscape 6.01 yesterday. It sucked so I uninstalled it and went back to using 4.77.

I used to be able to double-click a .jpg and it would use 4.77 to open it so I could view it. Now it keeps looking for 6.01.

How do I get it back to using 4.77? I looked in my Windows folder under Application Data and found a file called “Mozilla”, which is what the Windows says it cannot find (specifically, “Mozilla JPEG Image File” for Netscape 6.0)when I try to open a .jpg to view it. I haven’t done anything with it, for fear of REALLY screwing things up.

Anyone, anyone? help, please, oh wise computer-types, give me your wisdom!

I’m assuming Windows 98 here.

Double-click “My Computer”. Go to the “View” menu, and select “Options”. Click the “File Types” tab. Scroll down to the JPG file type, and remove it (it’s possible that there are multiple JPG entries: remove them all). Click OK, and return to wherever you store your JPG’s. Double-click one. The computer will now ask you which application to use to open a JPG file. Locate Netscape.exe (you can see where it is by right-clicking on the Netscape shortcut on your desktop, then selecting properties, then the shortcut tab), and associate it.

All JPG’s will be merry, and a good time shall be had by all!

(And yes, Netscape 6 does suck royal donkey balls!)

MY HERO!

If I’m ever in your part of the world, I’ll buy ya a beer!

Thanks again - worked like a charm.

I used to be a HUGE Netscape fan, and I shunned the dreaded Micro$oft Internet Explorer, because it was big and bloated, and filled with unnecessary code and had that stupid channel bar, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Now, I have to admit to using IE for about a year and a half now, 'cause Netscape has let their software become even worse than Bill’s browser. It’s a damn shame, I tells ya.

Oh, and Netscape doens’t support some of the more nifty HTML tricks like imbedded frames, which is a crock.
