Is anyone using replay TV, how do you have it connected? Phone, DSL, Cable Modem? Who is your provider? Our cable provider doesn’t support linux based systems and neither does SBC DSL. So who does?
A good friend of mine worked for ReplayTV in the old days and I was a beta tester. I have one of the older units. All you have to do is connect it to a normal phone jack. It has an internal modem and it will get the information in the middle of the night.

For some reason the phone wouldn’t do it last night, but this morning we got it up and running - thanks for your help!
I have two replay’s, I love them. There is a very good forum at:

Enjoy your new toy. By the way, just because your cable company says they will not support Linux, does not mean that it will not work. They will not help you get it working though. The replay uses standard TCP/IP protocols to communicate and should work fine as long as you have an internet connection.
The network connection is MUCH faster when downloading software updates and schedules. If it is available to you, you should use it. Some Replay TV’s have had toruble with freezing up when using dial-up.
