Ok, I know we have a bunch of bohemian tyep dopers, and a lot of Euro-dopers.
So what I’m curious about is how many of us have had Absinthe, and what the experience was like. Also, what brands you may have had, and approx. cost.
I’m in the market, and at this point the only thing stopping me is price… and that is being worked on.
So fill me in, folks.
This will be totally unhelpful:
I was at a Halloween party a few years ago, here in Memphis, and some guy had a bottle of “homemade” absinthe. Apparently you can order all the ingredients via Internet, and he had made it himself. He sounded pretty knowledgeable on the subect of distilling and brewing and whatever one does to make such things, so I’ll assume it really was absinthe. Unfortunately, I had a horrible cold and wasn’t drinking, so I didn’t try it.
Sorry I can’t be more helpful, but this is the first time I’ve had a chance to tell that story so I figured I would.
